  1. In a large saucepan and moderate-low heat, warm oil and saute’ chopped onion until it begins to be transparent

  2. Add the pureed tomato and 3-4 tablespoons of the makhani sauce blend, stir well to combine. Taste to see if this level of Makhani flavor is to your liking. Add more Makhani blend, as desired.

  3. On low heat, allow the sauce to simmer for 20-30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

  4. If desired, cook the protein of choice separately according to its specific instructions.

  5. Once the protein is cooked, add it to the simmering sauce and stir gently to coat.

  6. Continue to cook for an additional 20 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.

  7. Serve the Makhani Tomato Curry hot with rice or naan bread.
