Note: The package says to cook it for 1.5 hours. I don't do that. I cook it for 35-45 minutes, stirring regularly. I think it's best to use a double boiler: it seems creamier to me, and it's less likely to stick to the pan. I cook it using chicken broth but any clear liquid will do, even salted water.
