Italian Seasoning is a blend of ground herbs used outside of Italy to flavor many Italian dishes. The main ingredients are basil, oregano, regional rosemary, and regional thyme. Common additions to taste also include garlic powder, sage, and cilantro.
A similar version of Italian herb mix can be found in Bologna by the name of Salamoia Bolognese. It consists of sea salt, rosemary, sage, garlic, and black pepper.
