Clavo Huasca — Amazonian Love Vine
Clavo huasca is one of the Amazon’s better-known traditional love-and-vitality botanicals — a woody jungle vine with a warm, naturally clove-like aroma and a long reputation as an aphrodisiac, energizer and tonic for sexual vigor.
Its name means roughly “clove vine,” and when the bark is cut or brewed, that spicy fragrance explains why. Traditionally, clavo huasca has been prepared as a strong decoction or steeped into cane spirits and other tonic preparations.
Amazonian traditions have particularly associated it with desire and sexual vitality in both men and women, making this one of those plants whose folklore is considerably more entertaining than “herbal tea.”
Woody, spicy, slightly bitter and wonderfully strange — exactly the sort of thing that earns a place in The Cabinet.
Sold by the ounce. Cut and dried clavo huasca vine.
