Chuchuhuasi — Amazonian Strength Bark
Deep in the Amazon, chuchuhuasi has long carried a reputation as a bark of strength, stamina, resilience and sexual vitality.
Traditionally prepared as a powerful tonic, chuchuhuasi has been used by Amazonian peoples for hard work, fatigue, aching bodies and the restoration of vigor — the sort of plant taken when you want to feel stronger, tougher and more alive.
Its flavor is appropriately formidable: woody, earthy and distinctly bitter. The cut bark is traditionally simmered into a strong decoction or steeped in alcohol; the powdered bark can be incorporated into tonic preparations and botanical blends.
This is not a delicate sipping herb. Chuchuhuasi belongs to the old tradition of bitter strength tonics — plants valued as much for their reputation and cultural history as for their flavor.
Sold by the ounce. A mix of cut and powdered.
