Dragon's Blood Sage Smudge Sticks (Set of 2)

White sage leaves hand-bundled into short, rounded smudges and coated in dragon's blood resin. Burn one to clear the air after a long day, welcome in a new home, or mark a fresh start.

What they look like: These aren't long, slim wands. Each smudge is about 4 inches long, with a plump, egg-shaped head of whole sage leaves at one end and a short handle of stems at the other, roughly like a small torch. Twine wraps both the head and the handle. The whole bundle, twine included, is coated in dragon's blood, which gives it a matte, dusty rose-to-brick-red finish with a slightly chalky texture. The coating may leave a little red powder on your fingers. Because each one is bundled by hand, shape and fullness vary a bit from piece to piece.

White sage (Salvia apiana) grows wild in the high desert of Southern California and has long been burned for cleansing and renewal. Dragon's blood is a deep red plant resin that adds a warm, slightly sweet, earthy note to the sage's clean, herbal smoke.

To use: Hold the smudge by its stem handle and light the leafy end. Let it catch for a few seconds, then gently blow out the flame so it smolders. Walk the smoke through your space with your intentions in mind. To put it out, press the tip into sand or a fireproof dish. Never leave burning sage unattended.
