Black Cardamom 1 oz (Ilaichi, Kali Elaichi)

Black cardamom (also called Ilaichi, Kali Elaichi, hill cardamom, Bengal cardamom, Nepal cardamom, or winged cardamom) is a large seed pod from a perennial plant in the ginger family (Zingiberaceae), native to the Eastern Himalayas. The pods are dried over open fire, which gives them their signature smoky character. Not to be confused with green cardamom - the flavor and use are quite different.
