Nepalese Fagara peppercorns are a wild-harvested spice from the Himalayan foothills near Mt. Everest, hand-picked by women at the Nepalese Community Support Center in Kathmandu and sun-dried using traditional methods.
🌿 Flavor & Aroma
Fagara peppercorns belong to the same family as Sichuan pepper, known for their citrusy, numbing character:
- Bright citrus zest notes
- Light floral undertone
- Mild to moderate tongue-numbing effect (similar to Sichuan pepper)
- Aromatic, not heavily pungent
🍜 Where You'll Find It
Fagara-style peppercorns are common in South and East Asian cooking:
- Nepalese and Tibetan dishes
- Sichuan-style stir-fries and sauces
- Spice blends for noodles, soups, and marinades
🧂 How to Use It
- Lightly toast and crush or grind before use to release oils
- Use in moderation, the numbing effect builds quickly
- Pairs well with chili, garlic, and citrus in savory dishes
Small-batch, wild-harvested from Nepal. Sold in a 28g (1 oz) gusseted bag.
