Thai red chili paste is a common ingredient used in Thai cooking. 

Use half of this jar with a can of sweetened coconut milk and fish sauce to taste to make a quick,  delicious, spicy and sweet Thai chili meal every bit as good as what you will get at a Thai restaurant.  Add the protein of your choice or just vegetables (any) and serve with rice.  Will moderate heat: doable without setting your mouth on fire.  Increase the heat with the addition a little birds-eye pepper (sold here too).  Simple, filling, delicious, and amazing!
